Celebrating our founder's legacy
Clarion
21st May 2025
On Tuesday 20 May we celebrated our very first Founder's Day called ‘The Big Difference’.
It was a special day to reflect on Clarion’s 125 years of history, honour our founder William Sutton, and come together as a community and with our residents.
Colleagues volunteered at resident events where they took part in activities from litter picking to fence painting, meeting colleagues from across the business, and showed your support for our amazing Resident Involvement and Housing teams – all while making a visible impact in our communities.
We also held office events nationwide, bringing colleagues together for drop-in celebrations like our live choir performance from our Norwich choir, and food and games. Many offices took part in a delightful NSPCC bake sale, offering sweet treats for a great cause, raising over £1,706.

Our resident events were an opportunity for colleagues to meet and collaborate with teams they don’t often interact with, strengthening the bonds within the organisation and to get to know some of our residents.
It was a heartwarming sight to see all colleagues from different departments working side by side with the Resident Involvement and Housing teams, all while contributing to tangible improvements in the communities we serve.
We also unveiled a commemorative plaque at Alum Rock community centre, where Michelle Reynolds and a local resident said a few words.
A big thank you to all the colleagues and residents who came and celebrated with us!
